What Our Certification Standards Include
At the American Board of Cosmetic Gynecology (ABCG), we establish comprehensive guidelines to ensure practitioners meet the highest levels of professionalism, expertise, and patient care in cosmetic gynecology.
Ethical Standards
The ABCG holds certified professionals to the highest ethical standards, requiring them to act with honesty, integrity, and professionalism in every decision.
Our guidelines focus on fostering patient trust by prioritizing clear communication, informed decision-making, and fair treatment. These principles ensure that patients receive the highest level of care at every stage of their treatment.
Clinical Competencies
Our certification process rigorously evaluates the core competencies essential for safe and effective practice in cosmetic gynecology. Certified members are assessed on their ability to uphold patient safety, execute advanced surgical techniques, and implement evidence-based care strategies.
Whether managing complex procedures or providing routine care, ABCG-certified professionals exemplify clinical excellence and commitment to optimal patient outcomes.
Training & Education
ABCG certification is built on a foundation of thorough and supportive training. Accredited programs guide candidates in mastering advanced surgical techniques, upholding patient safety, and adhering to ethical care practices. Hands-on learning, including workshops and clinical experiences, ensures candidates are prepared to deliver exceptional care.
Additionally, our focus on evidence-based education ensures that certified professionals stay informed about the latest advancements and best practices in cosmetic gynecology, enabling them to provide innovative and effective care.
Assessment
ABCG certification assessments follow a structured, multi-level approach to prepare candidates for excellence in cosmetic gynecology:
- Level 1: Level 1 is a two-day course covering anatomy, aesthetic rejuvenation, and practical demonstrations. Includes an MCQ exam and diploma upon completion.
- Level 2: Level 2 focuses on surgical techniques like labiaplasty and fat grafting, with hands-on practice, complication management, and fellowship upon completion.
- Level 3: Level 3 is a three-day advanced program on hormone therapy and sexual medicine, ending with written and oral exams for certification.
By progressing through these levels, candidates build expertise in surgical techniques, ethical care, and patient-focused decision-making, supported by constructive feedback at every stage.
